CHEMICAL PEEL
professional medical-grade chemical peels use highly concentrated pharmaceutical-based active ingredients that are clinically proven to significantly improve skin health and appearance.
Chemical Peel is also very popular to be used on body areas such as the back, shoulder, etc.
ABOUT CHEMICAL PEEL
Chemical peels work by exfoliating the skin’s surface to reduce the appearance of blemishes, smooth skin texture, improve radiance, and restore skin health. They are most effective at enhancing cell turnover and improving the appearance on the surface of the skin.
A chemical peel involves the application of exfoliating chemicals to the skin, causing the destruction of the epidermis and dermis structures. Depending on a variety of factors, the effects of peels can reach varying depths and alter or damage different structures. Regenerative mechanisms are set in motion in damaged skin layers, the objective being to cause an objective improvement in the structure and, most importantly, the appearance of the skin.
Chemical peels come in many different strengths and acidic formulations. The key ingredients are Aha, BHA, Phytic Acid, Tranexamic Acid, Polyhydroxy acids (PHA): lactobionic acid & gluconolactone, and soothing & Repairing Plant Complex. Peptides are also infused into the skin together with the acids to reduce wrinkles, ageing and pigmentation. Both SkinCeuticals and Pro-Derm Timeless Tx Peel used in Bon Chic compliant with Health Canada (pH, concentration, safety), and can be used throughout the year - The acids in both peels are non-photosensitizing and very limited risk of hyperpigmentation.
For acne-prone skin, it can also help to reduce acne blemishes and help prevent future breakouts and also are ideal for those looking to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin tone and radiance.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The exposure time of each chemical peel layer may vary depending on the reactivity of the skin, the sensitivity of the individual or the specific skin problem. You might feel mild stinging while the chemical solution is on your skin, and the sensation should be eased once the neutralizing solution is applied. Pain relief isn't typically needed.
After the peel:
-
The desquamation can be more or less important; It is very common for well-maintained skin not to peel.
-
The rise to the surface of imperfections that remained under the skin. It is a phenomenon of elimination that could last 1 to 2 weeks and is very often located where outbreaks of pimples occur.
-
The increase of the temporary shine of skin due to a stimulation of sebaceous glands which disappear after a few days.
